Tips for Men, What to Avoid When Using Cologne
Men’s fragrance has become such an essential element in male grooming that it has become a multi-million industry worldwide. This could be because of all the elements of grooming; fragrance lets you express your individuality through your choice. One of the best compliments you can receive is when a lady tells you “you smell great!“ But wearing fragrance or cologne will not necessarily give you the pleasure of hearing such a compliment. There are times when, instead of drawing people to you because you smell good; you drive them away because you reek.
To avoid such adversity, here are some cologne don’ts for you:
Put on too much
Putting on too much or saturating yourself with cologne is not pleasing, it is offensive to people you pass by or get in contact with. You don’t drench yourself in cologne, all you need is a dab in the inner wrist, behind the ears and at the base of the throat, or what are called pulse points. Since your blood vessels are closer to the surface of your skin in these spots, every time your heart beats, the scent is subtly diffused.
Stick to one scent only
In the hotter months all you need is a light, citrus scent. A stronger more robust scent can be overpowering in the heat. But come fall all the way to winter, change your cologne to a spicier more full-bodied fragrance sine the lighter scent will be lost in the cold temperature
Stockpile
Fragrances or colognes are not collectibles. They are meant to be used, at least within 3 yrs, and then it loses its original fragrance and become rancid. So don’t hoard them, use them. This rule applies to both colognes that are partially used and those that are still unopened and wrapped in plastic or their original wrappings.
The cologne you’re wearing should make people notice you, but in a most positive way. It is a waste of money to buy an expensive bottle of cologne but not get any benefit from it.
